Aruoba is saying that it is better to be loved than to be admired. Admiration is often distorted and can make the person being admired feel grandiose, while the person admiring them can feel small. It is better to be loved for who you are than to be admired for something false.
He was saying that it doesn't make sense to think that a bigger number is closer to infinity than a smaller one. I think he was trying to explain how people can misunderstand and misuse language and thought, which is something that philosophers often think about.
Modernity has tricked us into believing that the laws of nature can explain the universe. But really, the laws of nature just describe the universe and its order, they don't explain anything. It's like a native person sticking a spear into a picture of their enemy that they drew on the ground, and then a modern person kissing a picture of their child that they took out of their wallet. Both are essentially the same thing, but we don't see it that way.
If someone pushes on a door that is not locked and it opens inwards, but they don't think to pull it open, they will be stuck in the room. This idea was written by Wittgenstein from 1929 until his death in 1951, but was not published until 1977. In 1999, it was published in a book with the translation of Oruc Aruoba from Altikirkbes Publishing House, along with the original German version and side references.

A philosopher named Neocantian once said that the words we use to express ourselves limit our understanding of the world.
